New York, Lake Victoria

We took a drive out to Lake Victoia today to visit Pastor Nicolas' church. His school is called New York.

It was a 2 1/2 hour drive from the village and as the driver said, "It was not me driving the car, it was the mud."  We slipped and slid and bumped all the way.

First stop, lattrine.

Bucket for cleaning feet before entering the church.

The congregation was waiting for us. We sat in front of everyone, as the guests of honor. They sang several songs, three choirs sang and danced. Kevin preached.

Stan sang, (the kids were waiting on him to dance too) Michelle shared.

More songs. Typical African service.

Afterwards we visited with the people a bit.

They were very grateful for our visit. The community came together and cooked lunch for us. Rice, beans and meat.

We ate fast and left. We went to the shore of the lake to see the beauty and be tourists for five minutes.
